  • Creditability and reliability of information is ensured when a site provides content that is managed and reviewed by an editorial board or experts
  • Clinical content should include the date of publication or modification
  • Any and all sponsorship, advertising, underwriting, commercial, or potential conflicts should be separated from editorial content
  • Avoid any online physician who proposes to diagnose or treat without proper examination and consultation regarding your medical history
  • Personal and medical information should be kept absolutely confidential
  • Get more than one opinion, be suspicious of miracle cures, and always read the fine print
